So close, but so far away!

More hours into the bike bring it to a very close stage. Only a few tbings left to do.

Carbs were rebuilt, jets cleaned, and installed with the new pod filters.

Clip-ons installed, and all the controls wired up minus the signals.

Front signals are mounted, but need a wiring. Still need a tail light and plate mount. And to wire in the battery, sort out the space issue with the rec/reg and starter mag.

A few more tabs grinded off the frame, and a solid check over of the bike and it should be running, and rideable. Who knows what Ill have to do for jetting, but a run of the bike is in need first.

Seat werk

Got damn near close to finishing the seat this weekend. Its mounted, wrapped in leather, batterys sittin nice inside, and I sewed up a seat cover, and wrapped some underlay in it. (underlay makes great seats believe it or not)

All I have left to do on it is work a few of the creases out on the back of it.

Tomorrow my package from dime city will arrive. This means, my clip ons, pods, fuel line, etc gets here. From there I can finish this bitch up, and get her going.

Enjoy.

Some more progress!

Over the last few days I have gotten some more progress on the cb. Got the full roller painted and buttoned up, still need to hack a few more un-needed mounts out of the triangle but other then that, its looking good.

Wheels are cleaned, painted, greased and back in. Same for the engine. Seat pan mounted up, battery mounted to it with industrial grade velcro, and more progress on the seat. Seat is damn near ready for paint, and mounts are completed. Started to dip into the electrical, got my diagram drawn up, and everything labeled.

Fibreglass Time!

Yesterday I began work on the cafe seat.

I got 3 layers of glass layed down, and will probably add 2 or so more.

Enjoy.

Project FTP (F*CK the Purists)

So project number 2 is well on the way,

Picked up this ol girl for quite a reasonable price from up island. Cash was in the owners hand within 3 hours of posting the bike online. Nothing like a good night rip 50k's up island on a wicked fun XS to see the next victim!

Lets just say, the P.O. was in tears, and all he could say was "I feel im getting robbed".

He made sure the bike was going to a good place, had a look at the XS and decided I was an acceptable person to take his baby off his hands. The bike was firing in only 3 cylinders, In quite good cosmetic shape but in do for a thorough cleaning. Thats if I was to keep the bike stock. As if!

So picked up the bike the next day, and got her home..

Time to tear into her!

Started with the standard. Stripping of all parts not needed. I dont need to explain this very thoroughly I hope

Sweet pipes!

Parts were continuously taken off untill I reached a point where I could hardly keep my eyes open, and it was time to hit the sack.

So let me fast forward a bit to today.

I started to grind off some of the unwanted tabs, removed carbs and airbox, built a seat pan out of aluminum and got it mounted with some nice, flush mounted bolts.

Plan for the seat is:
Battery tray, and all electronics hidden underneath a homemade fibreglass cowl, and mounted nice and flush to the frame.

I also did a quick mockup of the headlight and ears to give myself a little inspiration.

Today, Im taking a day off as my "real job" put a tole on me this week. Tomorrow is going to be a big day. Stay tuned for more to come.

Welcome to Musseau Mo-terwerks Vintage and Custom Bikes!

Hello everyone,

Ill start with an introduction. My name is Kellan Musseau, 20 years young, and have recently entered the world of custom motorcycles. Since a young age, I have always been fascinated with all things with an engine, particularly two wheel death machines

I recently built a 77 xs650 Brat tracker and got completely hooked, and obsessed with the idea of building a bike to my exact specifications. Not only did I fall in love with building, but it seems I cant ride a block without people gawking, gazing, and asking all sorts of questions. Thats what got me thinking..

Maybe I can do another, and build a bike to sell?

So fast forward to now:

79 Cb650 four, in pieces, begging for some love, care, and attention.

Thats where this blog begins. The purpose of this is to show the world what is going on in the tiny spare bedroom that I call a shop, keep everyone up to date on bike progress, and maybe sell some shit!

So here we go.
